MESSAGE FROM BOOSTER PRESIDENT

Park Updates

Carolyn Park would like to extend a tremendous THANK YOU to everyone who has been on board with us, working our park to greatness. Our future is so bright, the GOLD and GREEN are blinding us!

2017 Baseball season ended successfully with our Concession stand serving as a steady source of income for our organization, our coaches congratulating their players on a season well played, and our kids competing for championships and celebrating their seasons with old and new friends at parties. We send a round of applause to the League Champions, Coach Deblonde’s 5 yr old boys, Coach Willhoft’s 7/8 yr old boys, and Coach Landry’s 9/10 yr old boys. Way to go, teams!

As we move forward with Flag Football, Cheerleading, Volleyball, and Football, we are excited to announce that registration has now been handed over to the zones. Starting now with Flag Football, players will register through their home parks, with ours being on a new online registration system which uses a simple interface to guide parents through registration. Our website is also newly designed, so go check it out! www.cphornet.com

We would like to thank Melissa Bruno for stepping up to be Carolyn Park’s first Cheer Coordinator, and Anahi Landry for stepping up to be our first Volleyball Coordinator. Our park, parents, and children appreciate your leadership and effort!

In our dedication to maintaining a professional and organized booster club, we have filed our 501(c)(3) application as of July 2017, and have realigned members of the board to better suit the needs of Carolyn Park. Charlie Wall has now been added to our Board as the Girls’ Athletic Director, and Sara Mendoza (formerly Girls’ AD) has now taken over as Secretary. We look forward to improving our park as we continue to work together as a cohesive team.

In the spirit of improvement, our park will now offer Membership Dues as an option for each household. This $15.00 optional fee covers the membership period of July 1 – June 30. The fee, along with attendance at 50% of meetings, will entitle the household to one vote in our elections. You, the community, have the responsibility of keeping our club strong, profitable, and respected. Your vote in good standing will ensure that you stay involved and up to date with what’s happening in the community regarding recreation sports.

In closing, we the Board would like to present our vision, moving forward. This vision is transparent and will require our whole park family to continue to achieve greatness for all our children and families. We have successfully completed a great baseball season, and in doing that, we have earned more responsibilities, such as registration. We have built a great website for registration. Our vision is to continue moving towards 100% self-sustainability across the board. This will continue to be an uphill battle, but I believe we are climbing it one step at a time, and are making tremendous strides daily. We have some big projects being looked at to continue our success: shelters at the park, a score board, storage facility to house players’ equipment and possibly even bringing back the Hornet’s Nest. With a sharp vision and transparency, along with family participation, we will continue on this road to success.

Thanks to everyone’s hard work and dedication to the cause, I can’t wait to watch us grow! Go Hornets!
